Ultrasound Follow-Up Scan After Disolving

Our follow-up ultrasound scan is performed after hyaluronidase treatment to assess the treatment area and monitor your progress. Using high-resolution ultrasound, we evaluate any remaining hyaluronic acid filler, assess tissue healing, and identify whether any further treatment may be beneficial.

This appointment provides reassurance following treatment and supports safe, evidence-based decision-making. It is ideal for confirming treatment outcomes, assessing residual filler, and helping to plan any future aesthetic procedures where appropriate.

Why have a follow-up scan after dissolving?

Because the mirror can’t tell you what’s underneath.

After dissolving, the tissue is swollen, tender and changing week by week. A face that looks flat may still hold residual filler at depth. A face that still looks full may simply be oedematous. Both feel identical to the person living in it, and both are commonly misread – by patients and practitioners alike.

Ultrasound removes that uncertainty. In real time, we can see:

Whether what you're feeling is residual product, swelling, or scar tissue

Detect existing filler, including migration or previously treated areas

How much of the original deposit has broken down

Whether a further dissolving session is likely to be worthwhile or unnecessary

This matters most if your original filler was dissolved without imaging. If nobody scanned before, nobody knows what was there to begin with, which makes “it’s all gone” an assumption rather than a finding.
